Q: It is reported that Lee Teng-hui has started his trip to the US. What is your comment?
A: It is known to all that Lee Tung-hui has been sparing no effort in advocating Taiwan Independence and the purpose of his trip to the US is to conduct activities aimed at Taiwan Independence.
We have lodged a solemn representation to the US on its permission for Lee Tung-hui's trip and expressed our strong dissatisfaction and opposition. We urge the US to honor its commitment to One China policy, the three Sino-US joint communiqués and opposing Taiwan Independence, correct its erroneous actions and stop sending any wrong signals to Taiwan Independence separatist forces.
The separatist activities by Lee Tung-hui and the like aiming at Taiwan Independence are despised by all people in China including Taiwan compatriots. Their scheme is doomed to failure.
